Youth Art Competition details and references:

  • The 2025 BMA River 2 Reef Ride Jersey Design Competition invites talented young designers to create a visually captivating and unique jersey that represents the essence of the event.

River 2 Reef Ride celebrates the natural beauty of the Mackay region, its connections between rivers and reefs, and we encourage designers to integrate elements that symbolise this link.

We acknowledge the Yuwi people, the traditional owners of the lands on which our annual cycling event is held.

The winning design will be featured as the official jersey for the 2025 event.

    Theme:

The overarching theme of the jersey design should seamlessly blend the worlds of people, community, cycling, rivers, and reefs. We want the design to evoke a sense of adventure, connection to people, environmental awareness, and the thrill of cycling through diverse landscapes. The design should be inclusive and appeal to riders of all levels.

    Inspiration:

Links to people, community, cycling, rivers, and reefs should serve as the primary sources of inspiration. Think about the dynamic and interconnected nature of these elements. Consider the vibrant colours, fluid shapes, and organic patterns that can be found in rivers and reefs. Additionally, draw inspiration from the BMA River 2 Reef Ride logo palette as a guide for selecting colours.

    Colour Palette:

The BMA River 2 Reef Ride logo palette is provided as a reference for choosing colours in the design. Ensure that the selected colors complement each other and align with the overall branding of the event.

BMA River 2 Reef Ride Logo Palette:

    Blue (Pantone 294 HEX #00437b)

    Orange (Pantone 716 HEX #f58021)

    Red (Pantone 485 HEX #ee3224)

    Design Considerations:

Submissions can include both a front and back jersey design or simply one design that will be repeated front and back.

There is the option to further customise your design by completing all panels of the jersey (side, shoulder/arm sleeve and neck panels).

    Placement of Sponsor Logos:

Refer to the current jersey design (front and back) for guidance on where sponsor logos will be placed over the winning design. Note: the event and sponsor logos will be added by the Event Management Team following artwork submission. Designers should be mindful of how the event and sponsor logos may affect their design.
