Congrats Evie Flynn! Evie is our 2026 Youth Jersey Design Winner
Evie’s winning design “Ride the Current” explores the connection between cycling and the beautiful surrounding waters in Mackay.
Inspired by the relationship between Mackay rivers and the reef, Evie’s design reflects the natural flow of water. Like the current, our cyclists push forward through resistance, becoming part of the natural flow that links our freshwaters to our oceans.
Following a record-breaking public vote, Evelyn's vibrant artwork, "Ride the Current," will be featured on hundreds of official BMA River 2 Reef Ride jerseys this August.
RIDING FOR OUR MACKAY COMMUNITY.
GIVING BACK OVER $30,000 TO LOCAL COMMUNITY GROUPS.
This year, we aren’t just riding for fitness; we are riding for the clubs and community groups that keep Mackay moving. In 2026, we have partnered with 13 local community groups. Every registration and jersey purchase has the power to help these organisations reach their fundraising goals.
BECOME A SPONSOR
Align your brand with Mackay’s BIGGEST Cycling Festival.
The 2026 BMA River 2 Reef Ride is gearing up for its biggest year yet. Limited sponsorship opportunities remain for organisations looking to connect with our active community.
Is your brand ready to ride? The BMA River 2 Reef Ride Festival is more than just a cycle event; it is a celebration of health, community, and the stunning Mackay region.
We are currently finalising our partner family for the August 15 & 16 festival, and there is still time to position your brand at the start line.
WE HEARD YOU. WE CHANGED THE DATE.
We are moving to the second weekend of August (Aug 15 & 16) to give you the perfect festival weekend without the clashes of Father’s Day and sporting finals.
For over a decade, the BMA River 2 Reef Ride has been a staple of the Mackay region. But you told us that Father’s Day belongs to families, sporting finals and September Student Free Day make scheduling tough.
So, in 2026, we are making a change for the good.
What to expect:
Saturday Aug 15: Golding Kids Colour Ride (2:45 pm - 4:00 pm).
Sunday Aug 16: The Main Event (100km, 60km, 25km).
New Start Times: Cooler, earlier starts for the 100km Gran Fondo (6am) and a unified 6.45am am start for the 60km & 25km rides.
